Drop-Ins: Open Practice and Learning

Awakening The Heart

Cultivating a Warm, Open, Joyful, and Loving Heart

"The key to a happier and more successful world is the growth of compassion. We do not need to become religious, nor do we need to believe in an ideology. All that is necessary is for each of us to develop our good human qualities."
~ The Fourteenth Dalai Lama

Lovingkindness is a practice of deliberately offering warmth — to yourself, to people you love, and even to people you struggle with. It’s simpler than it sounds, and the effects are real.

Each Monday morning, we practice meditations rooted in the four immeasurables — lovingkindness, compassion, appreciative joy, and equanimity — with guided practice, short teachings, and conversation about how to carry this into daily life. The tone is friendly and unhurried.

Who it’s for: Everyone. Newcomers and longtime practitioners are equally welcome.

In this program, you’ll be invited to:

  • Practice lovingkindness and compassion meditation in a supportive group
  • Explore different ways of opening the heart — even on hard days
  • Discover how small shifts in attention can change how you relate to yourself and others

Special Notes:

No registration is necessary for this group, and is open to all community members. Whether you are new to these practices or have been practicing for many years, you are welcome to join us as we learn and practice together. We hope you will join us and discover the benefits of cultivating greater warmth, openness and care in your life and our shared world.
