Qigong at RIM

Gentle Movement, Breath, and Meditation in the Chinese Tradition

Body practice is the root of spiritual practice. When we calm the body, the mind can expand without limit.
~ Kenneth S. Cohen, The Way of Qigong: The Art and Science of Chinese Energy Healing

Qigong (chee-gong) is a traditional Chinese health practice that combines slow, gentle movements with meditation and breathing. It’s a way of listening to your body and giving it friendly, supportive care — accessible at any age and any fitness level.

This ongoing group meets weekly on Zoom. Movements and concepts are continuously revisited, so you can join at any time and attend whenever you’re able. No prior experience is needed.

You’ll need: Comfortable, loose clothing · shoes without substantial heels · a supportive chair · about 6 feet by 4 feet of clear space for movement.

Who it’s for: Everyone. The movements are gentle and can be adapted to your body.

In this group, you’ll be invited to:

  • Learn and practice qigong movements that support balance, calm, and vitality
  • Explore breath and body awareness through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine
  • Build a sustainable movement practice you can do at home
